JERRY SANDUSKY SEXUALLY ABUSED YOUNG BOYS

PENN STATE ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH, JERRY SANDUSKY, RAPED YOUNG BOYS

By Synthia Esther

November 18, 2011

Oral sex, anal sex, rape, and fondling young boys, was a sexual thrill for Assistant Penn State football coach, Jerry Sandusky.  After being arrested, Sandusky was released on a unsecure bond of $100,000.  Penn State sex scandal case has resulted in the firing of legendary football coach Joe Paterno, perjury charges against two high-level university officials accused of covering up the allegations, and the ouster of the university's president.  More survivors have come forward, after long isolation.

In a USA TODAY  news report on November 17, 2011, Kevin Johnson writes, "A Pennsylvania attorney representing one of the eight people allegedly abused by former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky said Wednesday that he was 'appalled' by the suspect's remarks during a TV interview in which he denied the 40 criminal charges lodged against him."  "Mr. Sandusky has elected to re-victimize these young men at a time when they should be healing,' attorney Ben Andriozzi said in a statement.

Andreozzi said he was particularly troubled by Sandusky's response to a question in the interview in which NBC's Bob Costas asked whether the coach was sexually attracted to young boys.  Sandusky repeated the question back to Costas before responding, "I enjoy young people; I like to be around them.  But no, I am not sexually attracted to young boys."  Sandusky is being accused in the case of being a pedophile "kiddie fiddler."

The Administrative office of Pennsylvania Courts announced it was assigning Sandusky's case to Senior Judge Robert Scott to replace Judge Leslie Dutchot, who had supported Sandusky's charity, which was an outreach aimed at reaching young boys.  The Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network has seen a %50 increase in the number of people turning to its online hotline for help and advise, says hotline director Jennifer Marsh.  The group started a social media compaign after the Penn State story brook.  About 1,000 people made contact online in the first two weeks of November, twice as many as in that period last year.  The victims need compassionate help, and  prayer for healing, in order to deal with the trauma of sexual abuse, while safely moving forward into a stronger, victor mindset.

Source: Audrey Snyder, USA Today wrote "About an hour into a special town hall meeting with Penn State students and administrators Wednesday night, a woman stood up with tears in her eyes, ...she had a question for President Rodney Erickson about dealing with the aftermath.  'I feel shame.  What do I do with these feelings?'"  After a few moments of silence, quickly followed by applause, Madlyn Hanes, vice president for commonwealth campuses confirmed, "We should emerge from this more this more commpassionate and with resolve.  I think going forward the communities you will join will benefit from these compassions that you have learned and will learn."

Scott.com national recruiting analyst Brandon Huffman stated, "The real challenge is going to be the lingering effect.  I think there's a general distrust from recruits and their parents toward Penn State as a whole."  Huffman is right on, as the public becomes more aware of sex addicts within mainstream society sexually abusing children, awareness is coupled with knowledge which begets wisdom.  Be pro-active!  Talk to your children, and educate them concerning inappropriate touching and sexual awareness.  Teach your children to have a voice and a trust in their parents and/or guardians to listen, and protect them concerning such matters.
